WHAT’S IN TMF’S BEAUTY CABINET?!

We’ve got a big secret we need to get off our chests! Here at TMF we are just as crazy about the beauty industry as you are. We adore new skincare finds, beauty supplements and creative cosmetics and love finding the next best thing. So, if you’ve ever been curious as to what our favourite beauty must haves are (and how we incorporate them into our routine) now’s your chance to be seriously nosey…

Here are our some of our favourite products of the moment and the ones we’ve been stashing away in our beauty cabinet. Spoiler alert: these all work seamlessly with our existing TMF favourites. You could say it’s a match in beauty heaven!

IPSUM SKINCARE

If you haven’t yet drawn the link between having a consistent skincare routine and how your makeup looks then now is the time to pay attention. Let’s be honest, good skin can come and go but when our skin is behaving it certainly makes for a great makeup day!

At TMF we are in a passionate and committed relationship with 100% natural Aussie grown ingredients and are always on the hunt for brands that share our passion. Enter IPSUM Skincare.

We hate picking favourites around here, but if we had to we’d say the one to watch is the IPSUM Best Skin Cleansing Oil Balm!

BEAUTY SUPPLEMENTS

It’s all over Instagram as the new thing to incorporate into our #new(normal)routine – skincare vitamins. More research is coming to light that suggests we can all be doing so much more to achieve the skin of our dreams, and it starts from the inside out. We’ve all been there when we’ve eaten and drunk poorly for a few days (think: over Christmas or a blowout holiday) and the side effects take their toll on your skin in the form of dullness, dehydration, and unusual breakouts.  On the other side of the coin, if we consume a varied and balanced diet our skin seems to behave – get the picture? Before you dismiss skincare supplements as yet another marketing ploy to get us to purchase keep an open mind.

What’s important to remember is beauty supplements aren’t just your basic vitamins repackaged in a glossy box. They generally are made up of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, herbs, or botanicals as well as any other (safe) substance that can be used to support your diet. So, of course whilst they’re absolutely not necessary (and we should all be pursuing a healthy and balanced diet regardless) they can provide the extra building blocks our body needs to help iron out any deficiencies and support your skin from the inside out!

WHAT DO WE NEED TO LOOK FOR?

A major question you might have is which nutrients and vitamins do we need to boost our skin health? Vitamins like A, C and E all play a vital role in good skin health, while others include vitamin B (including B3, which is niacinamide, that is both anti-inflammatory and an excellent antioxidant), and zinc. There are also certain nutrients like essential fatty acids that our bodies cannot synthesise (read: break down and absorb properly) yet are crucial to our body’s health.

BEAUTY SUPPLEMENTS

It’s official, crystals and facial massage are having a MOMENT. You only have to take a quick scroll through social media to see beautifully refined facial tools popping up on shelfies and in selfies.

First up, let’s take it back to beauty school for a moment. Supposedly, each crystal type is legendary for having its own energy and healing properties, but if you’re sceptical about the power of crystals, each stone does have its own physical and chemical properties (as a natural stone). These can provide different benefits for different skin types and concerns so its key to clue yourself up and do the research. Our personal favourite? It absolutely must be Rose Quartz…

Sounds bizarre but stay with us – a quick face massage can go a long way. If you’re skin’s looking a little ‘bleh’, a two-minute massage can help to wake up the skin in the short term AND provide increased firmness and contour over time thanks to strengthened facial muscles and boosted circulation. It’s also seriously easy to fit into your existing routine. Simply use your gua sha or facial roller to work in your skincare in firm, sweeping motions, up and out.  Benefits from the physical massage actively brighten, boost luminosity, and smooth out uneven skin tone.  Your skin may turn a little pink (that’s the boosted circulation we mentioned) but take care never to drag or tug excessively. We don’t need added help in the aging department.

THE BOTTOM LINE?

At TMF we love to pass on any of our favourite beauty finds especially if they go towards creating the perfect canvas for us to work our artistic magic on. We are officially beauty junkies, and we love it! Get out there and let us know your favourites on our Instagram. We can’t wait to hear what you find…

Until next time,
