Aloe ~ heals and protects
Benefits: Everyone has seen this cute succulent-looking plant with thick green stalks. Most recognize that you can eat it or even slather it on after a sunburn. But most importantly, you can use it every day to treat the skin with its healing properties. When it comes to hydration, a water-based ingredient like Aloe is unlike others. Lightweight on the skin, this anti-inflammatory packs a punch with Vitamins A and C, plus antioxidants and enzymes. Never oily feeling, the moisturizing effects of Aloe Vera last all day. Look for Aloe to give a natural, smoothing effect and healthy glow to the skin.
How do we use it: TMF loves to use Aloe in our Primer especially as a moisturizing base for your foundation. Never cakey, Aloe in the Pure Skin Primer smooths skin without clogging and gives a surface for your foundation to lay evenly on. Plus, all of the skin benefits ensure that if your skin is in need, it definitely won’t be lacking or instead eating up the oils in your foundation for balance. See our other blog on why you should absolutely use a Primer...
Apricot ~ a must have for sensitive skin + essential fatty acid
Benefits: Naturally high in antioxidants, Apricot is your #1 defense against environmental stressors like pollution and sunlight. Not only does it have a healthy amount of Vitamin A, but the essential fatty acids work to make your skin softer and more supple. Vitamin A is our anti-aging hero. It helps with natural rejuvenation. Apricot Seed Oil also contains GLA (gamma linoleic acid) which comes from omega 6 and works to deeply hydrate and protect the skin.
How do we use it: At TMF, we use Apricot Seed Oil in our Primer, Concealer, and Serum Foundation. Basically anything creamy, we added this winner to. The oil from this soft, fuzzy fruit naturally provides a safe barrier from icky dirt and debris that floats in the air, trying to throw off our skin balance.
Kakadu Plum ~ the riches source of vitamin c & protector against free radicals
Benefits: Used as a traditional medicine, these little bean-looking fruits reduce redness and swelling and are known as a natural antibiotic, protecting against bad bacteria. Originating in Australia, Kakadu plum is rich in vitamin C, which is known to brighten the complexion. They are well worth the Vitamin E, folic acid and carotenoids packed inside which work to reverse the effects of free radicals and reduce the symptoms of aging.
How do we use it: Those who have sensitive skin are more prone to bacteria that can cause breakouts. This extraordinary fruit doesn’t just contain Vitamin C, but additional lesser-known antioxidants like Gallic acid (good for restoring the skin’s natural barrier) and Ellagic acid (helps restore elasticity to skin). At TMF, we use this little gem in our Primer, Concealer, Pressed Foundation, Serum Foundation, and Bronzer for the best balance and youthful glow you can get.

Green Tea ~ boasting anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties
Benefits: Those pretty Green Tea leaves contain a micronutrient we like to call EGCG, which is a powerful antioxidant that has been shown to rejuvenate dying cells. Excellent at fighting premature aging, Green Tea can be ingested or put directly onto the skin to be absorbed. This natural plant protects the skin from UV rays with its antioxidant properties. It also works wonders to reduce puffiness and redness and reduce irritation. And most commonly known, it has the power to fight acne breakouts and clear clogged pores as well.
How do we use it: Full of B12 and Vitamin E, Green Tea promotes DNA repair. We use this to pamper and soothe the skin in our TMF Primer, Concealer, Pressed Foundation, Serum Foundation, Bronzer. Great for balancing good vs bad bacteria on the skin, it’s a must for face products especially.
Rose ~ for skin hydration- repairing dry skin
Benefits: Yumm, the sweet smell of Rose is ultra therapeutic. But who knew it would be packed with so many vitamins, minerals, antioxidants? Rose is commonly used to treat aging, redness and even adult acne. On top of it, it reduces stress. Imagine that. Also filled with vitamin A and C, Rose has been used since ancient times for its luxurious ability to keep the skin hydrated and youthful. Different from Rosehip Oil though, Rose Oil contains amino acids to help deliver oxygen, proteins, and other nutrients to each important cell.
How do we use it: Rose Oil has always been considered a luxury and is often on the higher priced end. But don’t worry. We haven’t skimped just to bring you the best. Choose to pamper yourself in a Rose Oil treatment every day! Rose Oil can be found in TMF Concealer, Pressed Foundation, Serum Foundation, Bronzer, Vegan Lips, Lip Love Pencils, and Sheer Lips.

Avocado ~ moisture restoration and balance
Benefits: Avocado Oil helps boost skin's immunity against stress and the environment. Avocado Oil contains lots of Vitamin E and C. Plant sterols, omega 9, and vitamins and minerals give you all the right fats from this meaty fruit. Repeat: fat is not the enemy! HA- Want beautiful skin? Eat an Avocado my friend. Or even better...make sure it’s in your makeup too. It offers essential fatty acids for retaining moisture in the skin and boosting collagen production.
How do we use it: Avocado Oil is our superfood for sure. It can hydrate and remedy chapped lips too. Avocado is packed with lauric acid which is rich in anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. This is very useful in managing acne bacteria as well. You will see Avocado Oil in these TMF treasures: Primer, Concealer, Serum Foundation, Vegan Lips, Sheer Lips.
Jojoba ~ soothes, softens and regenerates
Benefits: Last but not least, Jojoba Oil can certainly stand on its own with a textbook-size list of benefits. Most importantly, it soothes, softens and regenerates skin. Jojoba Oil is the liquid produced in the seed of the simmondsia chinensis plant – a native shrub found in southern parts of America. Highly moisturizing and antibacterial, Jojoba Oil is also hypoallergenic and great for the most sensitive of skin types. It helps control oil production and can speed up healing as well as promote your own collagen growth. It is easily absorbed into the skin because it mimics our natural skin oil.
How do we use it: We are not shy about using Jojoba Oil at TMF. Its unique properties make it a staple. We use it in pretty much EVERYTHING...Primer, Concealer, Pressed Foundation, Serum Foundation, Bronzer, Vegan Lips, Lip Love Pencils, Sheer Lips, Fresh Eye Pencil, and Pure Brow Pencils.
